Eduardo Delgado is a painter born on April 11, 1958 in Cali, Colombia. He discovered his passion for drawing at school at an early age, an activity he did as a hobby for his school projects.
He later moved to the city of Palmira, Valle, where he met his friend Leonardo Magaña, who was a painting teacher at IE Alfonso López Pumarejo. He saw potential in Eduardo as an artist and invited him to participate in his classes. There he learned basic artistic painting techniques of oil on canvas.
At the end of this period he decided to continue deepening in new painting techniques empirically, inspired by works of renowned artists such as Renoir, Theodore Robinson and Leonid Afremov. This is how over time he has learned to capture his own vision of reality in his works, reflecting his main techniques: realism and oil painting with palette knife.
Among the works he has executed we can observe landscapes, still life, portraits, city environments, among many others. In the ephemeral and chaotic of everyday life, his works remind us of the importance of appreciating the beauty in every scene that surrounds us.
Thanks to his dedication and effort to improve his technique, little by little he earned his place in the artistic scene of Valle del Cauca, becoming a member of the Foundation of Plastic Arts and Literature of Palmira, Colombia. This allowed him to show his works of art in exhibitions in different parts of the region.
In 2009 he moved to the state of New Jersey in the United States, where he continued painting with great dedication, challenging himself with each work he created. This helped him to participate in an art exhibition in 2014, at the Elizabeth City Public Library in New Jersey, for the commemoration of Colombia’s Independence Day, being this a great achievement as an artist representing his country abroad.
Over time, painter Eduardo Delgado has produced several original works and oil reproductions that stand out for their attention to detail, fine strokes and vibrant colors.
In order to share his artwork and inspire the public to pursue his passion for painting with determination and effort, in 2023 Edelgo’s fine art and framing was created, a virtual store where the artist gathers paintings he has made during his career, but also makes available other creations such as frames, paintings upon request, reproductions of works, paintings using canvas among other products and services.
For the artist, this is a way to leave a tangible legacy for the next generations of people who see art not only as a way to make a living, but also as a way to express their opinions and points of view about the reality in which we live.
